Events Summer 2010

Well my main (and daily) event for the summer from about 10am-7pm or so, is working at my new shop right here in Downtown Talkeetna.  We are located on the corner of Main St. and the Spur Rd. across from the iconic "Welcome To Beautiful Downtown Talkeetna" sign just as you enter the Talkeetna Historic District.  Next to me you'll see our Ice Cream Truck "Talkeetna Ice Cream Stop" now open for business daily from 10am to whenever (it is Talkeetna after all)...

Stop in for an ice cream treat or a one of a kind batik T-shirt, dress, onesie or piece of art. I also make SOY CANDLES now hope to see you soon!  Our number at the shop is (907)355-4257

Second Saturday Art Walks in Talkeetna- This summer in downtown Talkeetna several businesses are participating in this event every Saturday evening about 3-7pm. Snacks are provided at the Sheldon Community Arts hangar as well as at each shop, gallery or restaurant that is featuring an artist or artists. June 12th will be just a bunch of my art at my shop but July 10th I will share the show with our friend Trigger who paints on canvas and Aug. 14th is a mystery because I can't plan that far ahead right now, but I will line up another friend for that one too.

Non-Moose Dropping Weekend-  The second weekend in July is traditionally our local MOOSE DROPPING FESTIVAL but this year the festival has been cancelled but the Moose Dropping raffle and drop as well as the Moose on the Loose auction and parade are still happening so there will most likley be some people in town anyway! It's also the Second Saturday Art Walk for July.  There is so much to do and see in downtown Talkeetna anyway who needs a festival right? Stay tuned for info. on next year...

Dos Manos Art Gallery-  A funky functional art gallery Dos Manos is on Northern Lights Blvd. in Anchorage Alaska across from Title Wave Books and REI. They carry some of my soywax art batiks, childrens batik clothing, pillows, picture frames and birdhouses. This is a great place to pick up a gift for anyone on your list, lots of great functional art and jewlery to choose from.
